Baking can be a fun activity for anyone to do. In order to
bake, you must have a recipe. I wanted to share with you all some of my
favorite baking cookbooks that I have used and come across.
The first book that I would like to share with everyone is
titled “Great Cookies: Secrets to Sensational Sweets” by Carole Walter and
Clarkson Potter. The title speaks for itself on this one, this book is full of delicious
cookie recipes. The book offers over 200 different recipes to try, and for your
convenience it is separated into different types of cookies. I found this book
to be very helpful because not only does it provide recipes, but it also
includes different tips and techniques for you to try to get the perfect
cookie. This book runs around a cost of $35.00.
Another book I would recommend is called “The Cupcake Bible”
and is by Publications International Ltd. I like this book because not only
does it include over 150 different cupcake recipes, but it is also divided into
sections by seasons. It also has a section about helpful baking tips to help
fix all of your cupcake problems. The book typically costs around $10.00.
This next book takes a look at a healthier version of
baking. The book is titled “King Arthur Flour Whole Grain Baking: Delicious
Recipes Using Nutritious Whole Grains” and is written by King Arthur Flour,
Countryman Press. I particularly like this book because a lot of people always
stick to recipes using regular flour, but this book gives people the
opportunity to try new recipes with a bit of a healthier twist on them. It
includes over 400 recipes. This book typically costs around $35.00.
A fourth cookbook that I would highly recommend giving a
chance is titled “Baking: From My Home to Yours” written by Dorie Greenspan. There
are over 300 different recipes in the baking cookbook. The author provides many
baking tips throughout the book. I have personally made many recipes out of
this cookbook, and have yet to be even slightly disappointed with the results.
You can find this book for around $25.00.
The last cookbook that I would like to mention is titled “Pure
Dessert” written by Alice Medrich. I like this book because it presents
desserts in their purest forms. The author wants to keep it simple, and not overcomplicate
the flavors. This book is full of simple recipes and includes several different
tips and advice. This book can be found for around $10.00.
When you are searching for recipes to bake, I find that I
usually go to cookbooks as my first option. I have noticed that many people
forget that there are also many great baking blogs, which are full of delicious
recipes ready to be baked. So, I would like to share with you all some of my
favorite baking blogs that I go to, to look for new recipes that I can try out.
The first blog that I want to share with you guys is called
Bake or Break. This is one of the blogs I find myself going to more than others
because there is always a new recipe being posted that I can bake and try out
for myself. There is a recipe index that can be used to help you find a recipe
in the category that you are looking to bake.
Another blog that I really enjoy visiting frequently is Butter
Baking, a Blog of Baked Goods. I think that this is an excellent place for an amateur
baker to start with. What I really enjoy about this blog is that there is an
entire section devoted to baking videos. I think that the videos can really
help some people and ensure that they are taking the right steps. This blog
also includes a recipe index for your convenience. There is a new recipe posted
every week, and I have made several of these recipes and have not been
disappointed.
The next blog that I would like to share with everyone is Sally’s
Baking Addiction, a Sprinkle of Fun and Adventure. From the moment you view
this website, it will grab your attention with its viewer friendly design. There
are numerous posts every week, and there is a recipe index to help you find
what you are looking for along with a section that includes baking tips.
Another blog that I really like and recommend checking out
is The Cake Blog. This is a blog that I
have just recently come across, but I was fascinated by the different and
unique cake recipes that are provided. I also really enjoy this blog because
they have a tutorial section, which would be a great help for beginner bakers
who might need a little bit of assistance.
The last blog that I would like to share is My Baking
Addiction: Modern, Delicious, and Addictive. What I really like about this blog
is that it goes above and beyond and provides much more information than only
recipes. It has a section for essentials which includes essential tips or tools
that you might need in the kitchen. It also has a section for fundamentals,
which can provide some basic baking fundamentals that can be great for
beginners or even professionals who might need a little bit of a refresher. The
blog even provides steps on creating your own baking blog. This blog is
definitely worth a look in my opinion.
It can be tough to start baking if you are not sure where to
being. I believe that giving some or all of these baking cookbooks and blog a
read with help anyone with some basic and advance baking recipes and tips and
tricks. When I started out baking, these were some of the tools that I used to
help me progress as a baker, and I hope that many of you will give these
recommendations a try, and I definitely found them to be helpful, and I think
many of you can too.
