Food Network Review

Today I will be reviewing the Food Network. Not only did growing up around parents and family that baked  lead me to my passion for baking, but also watching TV shows on baking helped to lead me to that passion. The Food Network is a great channel for anyone to watch who is interested in not only baking but also cooking and food in general. The shows the network provides are all family friendly and are packed full of beneficial information. One particular show that helped me become more familiar with baking was Cake Wars, which is aired on the network. Teams compete in building themed cakes under a time pressure. I was fascinated with the creations they were able to make in such a short amount of time, which made me want to focus more on baking. Not only are the television shows beneficial to potential and experienced bakers, but also the Food Network website. The website can be found by clicking here. The website has a category where they post recipes that they have used. Another aspect of the website that I also found to be extremely beneficial was the video category. They post various videos with different tips and how-to videos. Overall I think the Food Network is valuable to both new bakers and experienced bakers. It is full of information, and there are not any negatives I have found with the Network. I think that the Food Network can be beneficial to many people for a number of different reasons.

Product Recommendation: Kitchen Aid 9-speed Hand Mixer

When baking some tasty treats so often, it is important to have the proper equipment to help get the job done quickly and efficiently with as little hassle as possible. That is why I am sharing the Kitchen Aid 9-speed hand mixer with you all today. Hand held mixers are my go-to tool as opposed to stand mixers. I believe that hand-held mixers get the job done, and require far less cleaning and complications. After using a few brands, I have discovered that the Kitchen Aid brand tends to be my favorite, as they last very long and are user friendly. They do offer a 5-speed and a 7-speed mixer as well, but I think that the 9-speed tends to be the best bargain. The 9-speed typically only costs around $100.00, which will pay for itself if you do a lot of baking. There are a number of different features that this mixer offers including but not limited to the 9 speeds, a beater ejector button, a lockable cord that swivels for convenience and the soft start feature that brings the mixer up to speed to prevent overspill and splattering. My family has been using Kitchen Aid equipment for as long as I can remember, and we have never had any issues. I would highly recommend this product to any baker, as the price is not too expensive and this particular tool will come in handy with almost any baking recipe. Summer Treats

With summer being right around the corner, I thought I would share with you some sweet summer treats that I have recently come across. Summer is the time of the year when all of the sweet fruit flavored desserts are most popular. Following will be some of my favorite go-to summer recipes that I have from other baking blogs.

The first treat I really like is a lemon cake. This cake is one of my family’s favorites and is always requested for gatherings.  The recipe can be found on the Love from the Oven blog by clicking here.

The next summer treat that is particularly popular for kids is homemade ice pops. These popsicles are an easy snack that are fairly easy to make as they only require a few ingredients that can all be thrown into the blender and then frozen. The recipe can be found on Bakerella by clicking here

Another favorite summer treat of mine is these berry cookie cups. These do require quite a few ingredients, however they are common ingredients that are typically found in a household. These are perfect little treats that are individual sized and refreshing. The full recipe can be found on My Baking Addiction by clicking here

The last summer treat that I want to share right now is a white chocolate cherry no bake mini pies. Again these are nice because they are individual size. These are fairly simple to make and they only require 6 steps. It is a perfect mixture of chocolate and fruit. The recipe can be found on Oh My! Sugar High by clicking here.
